Beards have become prevalent in modern American sports culture. Brian Wilson's beard is so long that it's in a braid now. He's been growing it since spring of 2010!
Sports Illustrated has a gallery of the all-time great beards, including Josh Reddick, Dirk Nowitzki, James Harden and, of course, Brian Wilson. I bet the 2013 Red Sox are not far from that list.
