Day 28: Mario Kart Dream Team

Well, it just has to be, Mario, Toad, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi. Mainly because they're my favorite characters. If it is by the objects they get then probably, Donkey Kong, Baby Mario, Red Paratroopa, and Bowser.

Good challenge but some odd questions in there. Like this one. I don't think there are teams in Mario Kart but oh well!

Day 27: Favorite Villain

Goomba! He's so little and cute and easy to kill. Bowser didn't really stand a chance here...

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Yes There's More

Another Pooh poster! This one's good but that seems to be an awful big pot with an awful lot of honey in it (or honey that used to be in it.)

Day 26: Favorite Mario Quote

"Here We Go!"

~Mario

No sound bites for it, sorry.

Here It Is!

Remember that Mario challenge day that said a picture of you with Mario? Here it is up top!

Day 25: Favorite Game From The 2010's

New Super Mario Bros Wii was released in 2010! I have actually completed this one with my dad.

Wheeling and Dealing

The Celtics have traded Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson to Oklahoma City for Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, and a 2012 1st Round Draft Pick. They also traded Semih Erden and Luke Harangody to Cleveland for a 2013 2nd Round Draft Pick. Finally, they traded Marquis Daniels to Sacramento for cash and a 2017 1st Round Draft Pick. I do not like any of these trades. Marquis and his princesses and Semih Erden having your back. Perk, Rondo's best friend, just gone. And Nate gone breaks up the Shrek and Donkey of Big Baby and Nate. Too many trades...

Day 23: Favorite Mario Game From The 1990's

I may have already answered this when they asked me what my favorite game was so here it is again! Super Mario World from 1991!

Movie Review: Grown Ups

Grown Ups is a 2010 movie from Columbia Pictures. It was directed by Dennis Dugan. It starred Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade.
This movie was aMAIZEing! Five kids who won a basketball championship meet up again in 30 years at their coach's funeral. This movie was just awesome because they went to a water park and they played basketball! It's great! You have to see this movie.

9/10

Day 22: Favorite Mario Game From The 1980's

The original Mario game. Donkey Kong.

Top Five Dunks From Last Night's Slam Dunk Contest

Honorable Mention~ Good actors for the teddy bear.

#5~ Blake Griffin pulls a Vince Carter with his elbow in the hoop.

#4~ Serge Ibaka went with a Dr. J and jumped from the free throw line.

#3~ JaVale McGee decided to dunk with two balls and two hoops after he called out Dwight Howard.

#2~ And then McGee went with three

#1~ Finally, Blake jumped over a car to win it.

Day 20: A Picture of You With Mario

There was a really cool one of me at That's E! with a Mario statue. But alas I could not find it.

Book Review: Johnny Tremain

A boring book about the 1700's. Need I say more? It was okay but it could've been better. I don't get why they killed some people though. Much was left unanswered and it ended odd. It's about an apprentice silversmith, Johnny, who burns his hand and gets a job at the newspaper, Boston Observer. He gets caught up in the Revolutionary War acts (Boston Tea Party, Battle of Lexington, Paul Revere's Ride, etc.) Stuff ensues and the book ends.

6.5/10

Day 19: Favorite Mario Party

Mario Party 6! Hands down! It's got a Mario basketball on it! I have to play this again sometime soon.

Friday, February 18, 2011

Day 18: Favorite System To Play On

Got to be the Super Nintendo. Nice, retro, and classic. The Wii has the remote in which you turn sideways and the DS you can play with multiple people. But the Super Nintendo is legendary.

Day 17: Favorite Power-Up

It's got to be the flying, killer, blue shell. Good for a 2nd place Mario Kart race.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Day 16: Favorite Mario Kart Race

Mario Circuit. I'm good at this so I nicknamed it Dave's Track. First race of Mario Kart DS.

Pixar PALACE

How awesome is this place? Incredible! I could live there when I'm 36.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Day 15: Favorite Spin-Off Game

Very fun but very challenging in the later levels.

Wasn't Going To Do This

But it turns out she didn't have a stroke! So here we go! (Bud Light inflency tone.)

Best Song Predicted By Me!

I predicted the winner! Need You Now by Lady Antebellum congrats to the win guys.

Day 14: Future Mario Game You're Looking Forward To

A sequel to this or maybe a remake of Super Mario World? Make it happen Nintendo!

This Week's Sports By David

Foot note: Fifth straight cover to feature the Packers.

Day 13: Favorite Piece of Mario Fan Art

Horrible but funny.

Florida News!

Everyone knows that the Florida Gators college football team is elite but the college basketball team? So 3 years ago. Until now. The Gators have won 3+ games in a row and they just beat Tennessee with a buzzer-beating layup. Erving Walker you are in the record books.

In other news Mickey's Toontown Fair, is officially closed.

Saturday, February 12, 2011

More Recognition!

Toy Story 3 has been nominated for Favorite Animated Movie at this year's Kid's Choice Awards. It will probably win but with some numbskull seven year olds they'll probably pick the fourth Shrek or that thing with Steve Carrell and minions. But it wasn't even nominated for Best Movie. The Karate Kid was and that is just sad. The best TV shows were Big Time Rush, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place, and the Suite Life on Deck. Give me a break! The Office? Community? The Simpsons? Chuck? The Event? Lie to Me? Desperate Housewives? Wipeout? Sportscenter? The Middle? Modern Family? Better With You? The Big Bang Theory? How I Met Your Mother? Rules of Engagement? Castle? None of those names came to mind? Give me a break Jack Black.

Day 12: Favorite Mario Video

Sure there's always the fake movie trailer you can resort to.

But there's always a great uplifting video. Best one is this one:

Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates

Good video of inspirational quotes but too much Yoda and not enough Slinky Dog!

Day 11: Favorite Piece of Mario Merchandise

I guess it would have to be this ball. Not much merchandise to look for.

This Week's Entertainment By David

They're Not Just All-Stars...They're Ball-Stars

The main attraction to Boston, Orlando, Oklahoma City, Miami, Chicago, New York, L.A., Phoenix, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas, and many more fans is going to be the Three Point Contest. It features, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, James Jones, Kevin Durant, Dorell Wright, and Daniel Gibson. Everybody is going to be watching the Boston Showdown. Ray vs. Paul. Two Celtics will compete against each other on February 19th. My prediction is Ray Allen.

The Rookie Challenge has been a classic that features the NBA's rookies taking on the NBA's sophomores. Every year the Sophomores would beat the Rookies, but last year the Rookies, featuring Stephen Curry, DeJaun Blair, and Tyreke Evans, beat the Sophomores, Kevin Love and more. This year Steph, Blair, and Tyreke are all back to face Wall, Blake, and many more. I predict the rookies again due to the fact that John Wall can set Blake Griffin up time after time. They play on February 18th.

The Celebrity Game is a time for laughs. Playing on the 18th also is popular names such as Ty Burrell, Jason Alexander, Jimmy Kimmel, Zachary Levi, Jalen Rose, and Justin Bieber (ugh.) They haven't named teams yet but what ever team Zach Levi's on is the team I predict because he's a baller.

The Haier Shooting Stars, on the 19th, is a game of trick shots and full court bombs. They have three players from four select states compete. Last year Texas, Dirk Nowitzki, Becky Hammon, and Kenny Smith, took home the title. They pick a NBA star, a WNBA star, and a NBA legend.
They haven't announced states yet but my predictions for the teams are:
  • Texas- Dirk Nowitzki, Becky Hammon, and Kenny Smith
  • Massachusetts- Rajon Rondo, Tina Charles, and Robert Parish
  • California- Kobe Bryant, Candace Parker, and Magic Johnson
  • Chicago- Derrick Rose, Jia Perkins, and Michael Jordan
(Massachusetts would definitley win.)

The Skills Challenge appeals to me because it brings out the good in short players. It is also on the 19th and you can pick your own players and the ballot will feature Stephen Curry, Baron Davis, Tyreke Evans, Derek Fisher, Tony Parker, Derrick Rose, John Wall, and Russell Westbrook. It would be awesomer if instead of Derrick Rose they had Rajon Rondo, instead of Baron it had Steve Nash, and instead of Fisher it had Jameer Nelson, and instead of Russell it had Deron Williams. A lot of ifs but what can you do. My pick is Tyreke if he gets picked.

The Slam Dunk Contest is the world renowned contest. More popular than the Home Run Derby and NASCAR race. Dwight Howard, Vince Carter, and Nate Robinson are legends in the category but it is time to pass the torch to DeMar DeRozan, Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka, and JaVale McGee.
The obvious pick is Blake because he is second in the league in dunks. Go Blake!

Lastly it's the All-Star Game. My pick is the East because I'm a Celtics and a Magic fan. The West Team is Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Yao Ming, Kevin Love, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, Russell Westbrook, and Deron Williams. The East Team is LeBron James, Amar'e Stoudemire, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Al Horford, Joe Johnson, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Kevin Garnett. The East has four Celts and a Magic. Go East!

Day 10: Did You See The Movie Super Mario Bros? And If So What Was Your Favorite Scene?

I've seen it but I don't remember it. Here's the trailer:

Day 9: Highest Level You've Ever Reached

Another one from our friend Mahalo. This was the last level of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii! So I've completed a game! A good bouncy break from the previous 9-7.

Super Bowl Champions (2)

That's right there is more than one Super Bowl champion (congrats to the Packers)! The ads of course! I have my top ten and and two honorable mentions!

Honorable Mention #2:

Day 8: Least Favorite Mario World/Level

There's no doubt in my mind. This guy (Mahalo) makes it seem so easy. But it is not!

Sports Illustrated January Cover of the Month

Not a good month for covers but it's got the Super Bowl champion, Aaron Rodgers, on it!

Monday, February 7, 2011

Day 7: Favorite Mario World/Level

Every single Level 3 is great. That was just one of the many.

Blake Lewis Was Snubbed!

Those are just a few of the many great performances by Blake Lewis. American Idol made a 10th anniversary hits CD and did not include Blake, Elliot Yamin, or Tim Urban! Crazy! They included Taylor Hicks though! I don't know about them!

McBain!

The Simpsons writers are just as good as Pixar and Community (Abed's story line and reoccurring Pizza Planet trucks)!
Every now and then The Simpsons had a short little clip of someone called McBain. Unknown until now all those clips come together to make the movie! Pretty awesome!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday as a side note!

Day 6: Least Favorite Super Mario Bros. Game

This wins it hands down. Desperate attempt from Nintendo and the controls make absolutely no sense what-so-ever.

Countdown To Fun!

That was the new parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida! I think it was awesome. It was a good idea for a parade at Hollywood Studios because Pixar isn't directly Disney, it's got some more showbiz. Finding Nemo would've been a good addition for some little kids, or me. Some floats could've been better like Carl from Up's float. It could've been his house! Some people didn't like it but I did! The dancers between the floats were less than extravagant but it was still good! On the Toy Story float you can catch Rex, Hamm, Mr. Potato Head, and Slinky Dog on the blocks! Yay! Slink made it! It was a good parade but definitely not Disney's best showing.

Day 5: Favorite Super Mario Bros. Game

Awesome game. I was not alive when it was made but I used to play it at my grandmother's house. It is fun and a good kickback. Some other ones are also good too though. Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart for the Original DS, New Super Mario Bros. World, Mario Party 6. Good games there.

Friday, February 4, 2011

Awesome!

Titled Pac-Manhattan

Look at Pac-Man go! Check more out here!

Day 4: Least Favorite Super Mario Bros. Character

I really hate those Koopas with the football equipment and the hammers. Really annoying and hard to get past. I also do not like Donkey Kong's daughter thing.

This Week's Entertainment By David

Drama Llama? I Think Not!

And the nominee for Best Picture at the Academy Awards is.....

TOY STORY 3!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, yeah! This completely makes up for the Human Torch's death! Buzz and Woody are chillin' with Leo Decaprio, Bonham Carter, a fighter, and Mark Zuckerberg. Yeah! Slinky Dog is way better than all ya'll! The best movie of 2010 and my favorite movie of all time has a 10% chance of winning Best Picture! Dreamworks can take that to the bank! This is Pixar's second nominee for the top prize in a row. It is legen---wait for it---dary! Tom Hanks! Jeff Pidgeon! Tim Allen! Blake Clark! Yeah! Toy Story 3 was nominated for 5 --count 'em-- 5 categories. That trumps Inception. That trumps The Fighter. It falls only behind the King's Speech and The Social Network. The best (and quite possibly the saddest (maybe Click instead)) movie of 2010 and all time! It is my pick and my prediction. If you are in the academy and are reading this post, please, please, please, please pick Toy Story 3 for Best Picture!
Go Pixar!

Day 3: Favorite Super Mario Bros. Character

Of course it is Yoshi! He's so lovable and cute and awesome! Yoshi! How can you not love him? He's a 21 year old dinosaur! His debut was in arguably the best Mario game of all time! Yoshi!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Nooooooooooo!

Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, of the Fantastic Four has died. I scheduled this on January 25th, 2011 and he died on that day! He has the ability to turn into flames but now he's dead! :( !
He died in the 587th issue of the Fantastic Four. Why did it have to be him?! Why couldn't it have been the Invisible Woman? Nobody likes her anyway! He died stopping a giant mob of Negative Zone monsters who were preparing for an Annihilation Wave. Why did my favorite superhero have to die? Well, my dad said that all comic book characters come back to life eventually.

Day 2: What Is Your Favorite Part Of The Game?

There's so many to choose from but this is what came to mind:

The little video they have before the games.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog that predicts if it is 6 more weeks of winter or 6 more weeks until spring, has not seen his shadow! Only six more weeks until spring!

Drop Dead Gorgeous

Hahaha, this is awesome!

1 - Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use photoshop or similar to put it all together.
