This Week's Sports By David

There's No Reason To Not Pick It

Toy Story 3 has made an ad to get nominated for Best Picture and maybe chosen as the Best Picture. They listed reasons to! The Golden Globes nominated it for Best Animated Feature. The Critics' Choice Awards nominated for Best Picture and Best Animated Feature as did the Peoples' Choice Awards. The National Board of Review nominated it for Best Animated Feature. Time Magazine said it was the Best Film of the Year. Entertainment Weekly and People magazine said it was in the Top 10 best movies of 2010. It was ranked in the Top 10 Films of the Year by AFI. Go Toy Story 3!

(Don't forget the 99% rating from Rotten Tomatoes!)

What Did You Feed Santa - Day 27

I gave him a glass of eggnog. Hood Golden Eggnog of course (the only good kind) and two peanut butter cookies and two sugar cookies. He liked it!

Favorite Christmas Thing You're Doing/Have Done In School - Day 24

We do Olympic Foolery! It's a series of games that kind of resembles the Winter Olympics but not entirely. The events are:

  • Speed Skating (With Rugs)
  • Foul Shooting
  • Holiday Dress-Up
  • GaGa Ball
  • Snowball Fight (With Socks)
  • Tree Decorating Contest
  • Tug of War
  • and more!
I participated in the Holiday Dress-Up. They pour the Lost and Found on the ground and you have to put stuff on as fast as you can. I got a jacket on at the last minute this year. Last year, I was in the Foul Shooting which we won. We came in second in the dress-up.

Last year, the 6th grade came in second finishing behind the 8th graders. We had 3 more points than the 7th grade.

This year, it was the most legendary year for Olympic Foolery. The 8th graders had always won every year since it began. This year we got second then first then second then first then first then second then first then second then first. The 6th graders came in first twice and last the rest. The 8th graders came in last twice and second and first the rest. They came in first for another one but they taunted the 6th graders and came in last. In the last event, it was tied 25-25 points apiece 7th and 8th. The last event was speed skating with rugs. The 8th graders got out to an early lead and the 6th graders kept falling. But then Pat dove for Dan but Dan got out of the way and Pat fell. Felipe hit Anthony's rug out of the way but he recovered and Kyle began his lap and he made it just as the 8th graders sent out their last racer. The 7th grade had one and the partying never stopped until every 7th grader was off their bus.

Advent Thing You're Doing - Day 23

I am doing two things to countdown to Christmas. One is the chalkboard. I wrote blank days until Christmas with snowflakes every where and a candy cane replacing the 'T' and a Santa hat on the 'C.' Another thing I'm doing is one I've done every year. The chocolate advent calendar. I open one square every day until Christmas to find a piece of chocolate inside with a Christmas-like design on it such as stockings, holly, and a sled.

Max's Big Break

Yeah! Me, Mom, Dad, Max, and Nikki are rocking out to 12 Days of Christmas!

ANOTHER Disney Trailer!

Yipee!

I just love trailers!

Favorite Part of Christmas Eve - Day 17

My favorite part of Christmas Eve was when I used to play with a toy firetruck with my cousin and we would play in the same room my dog, Max resided. It was fun even though I never really cared for toy cars. We no longer do this however, the last time we did was 2007.

I also love NORAD Tracks Santa. Fun too see where Santa's been and the trailer is cool and dramatic. I also like the commentary. One time I watched it and there was a blue kickball in the bag. When I woke up on Christmas there was a blue kickball under the tree. :)

Yay Jon Favreau Speaks Again!

He is officially my favorite director now.

Jon Favreau said "[The story for Magic Kingdom] is essentially a family caught in Disneyland, bringing all of the attractions to life. I really want to plumb the depths of the history of the park because it's a place I love to go a few times a year. I don't think it's going to be mixing all the other movies. I think it's going to be its own thing; I don't think it will be like Night at the Museum. I want to make it a little bit spookier like the old Disney movies were and try to really capture that tone. This is something that I've always been drawn to and now to say 'What characters do you want to use and how do you not make it Space Jam or like the Christmas parade with every character?' How do you show restraint and how do you make it tie into the emotional development of the characters? I said, look I've got to watch every Disney property. I started with Steamboat Willy working my way all the way up. I really want to focus on the classic stuff like Dumbo,Steamboat Willy, all the early black and white Mickey Mouse cartoons - all the Fantasyland stuff. I think there was something timeless about what Walt [Disney] did and I want to explore, not just Disneyland, but Walt's vision of Disneyland. If you look at his concept art it diverges a little bit from what the park turned into over time; but if you look at his original concept art and really explore what that world is, I think there is something really fun and magical to be done there."

And its in production! Yay! By the time I'm about 15 or 16 it should be out. Woot!
