Chuck

As I said with One Life To Live, "that's all the title has to be, right?"

Yes I did begin with the theme song because that's how Chuck episodes would begin. There's many things I have to say and I need to organize this. First: finale review. Second: Chuck in general. Let's not Chuck this up.

*SPOILER* *SPOILER* *SPOILER ALERT* IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN CHUCK YET. DO NOT READ. I WARNED YOU. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, DO NOT READ! If you've seen it, carry on.

The final episode of Chuck ever, luckily for us, was two hours. It began with Sarah coming back to Chuck, supposedly. She tells them that Quinn is dead, but in reality she's tricking them. Quinn's alive, but Sarah has no memories of the last five years. Operation Bartowski and Chuck have been in the past five years. Yeah. Sarah tries to retrieve the Intersect and she does, but Chuck switches it out because he believes something to be off. He is correct and Chuck, Casey, and Morgan are almost killed by Quinn. Chuck has a heart to heart talk with Ellie and while Sarah attempts to get Chuck, Casey exclaims that he can't lose both of them. Chuck takes out the earpiece and then goes on his terms. He goes down a different road, and Ellie being held at gunpoint by Sarah, slams the car into another car at full speed to save Chuck. Sarah is knocked unconscious and Ellie tries to calm him, but Chuck says to her, "What if it was Devon?" AKA Captain Awesome! Chuck brings Sarah to their dream home. Chuck gives Sarah the option of him or the Intersect. Sarah, still not knowing who Chuck is, chooses the Intersect and mercilessly beats Chuck. Chuck refuses to fight Sarah, but she continues to kick and punch him. Quinn arrives and steals the Intersect away from Sarah and tells her that Chuck's been telling the truth. He aims to kill Sarah, but Chuck dives in front of her and is shot in the side. But of course, Chuck is wearing a bulletproof vest. Sarah has run away. Casey and Ellie come in and ask about Sarah. Chuck replies, "she's gone." Casey arrives at Sarah's old apartment where Sarah is rapidly packing and he hands her a DVD and exits. Sarah plays the DVD and sees each day of Operation Bartowski and her analysis. She sees how deeply she loved him. She goes to see Chuck and tells him that she just doesn't feel it and tells him she's going to find Quinn and kill him. A depressed Chuck, says goodbye.

Now this is the end, Chuck v. The Goodbye. Sarah has tracked Quinn onto a plane where he has received an Intersect-fixing key. He tries to once again, kill Sarah, but she escapes by opening the plane door. She does fall out of it though, but barely opens her parachute into the water. Sarah goes to Castle and asks Chuck to find Quinn's whereabouts. In normal Chuck form, he puts his computer skills to the test again with his wine by his side and he, of course, finds him. Cue the pilot references. On Chuck and Sarah's 'first date' they went to a Mexican restaurant, dancing, and then Wienerlicious. Technically it was a mission, but whatever. In Germany, they visit a Mexican restaurant that is the replica of the first date. Then, they do the Tango at dancing. And they close at Wienerlicious, where Sarah rearranges the cups, involuntarily, is her memory coming back? There's a scuffle, but they all return to Burbank unharmed, where Ellie gives Chuck some good news. She says they can upload Sarah's memories to the last Intersect remaining and give her the glasses. Quinn still has the glasses though and he needs the last key to fix it's problems. Now this is the last mission, now we know that Sarah spoke too soon, but we can safely say that this is the last mission. At the Pacific Concert Hall, General Beckman is viewing a concert. Quinn, however, has planted a bomb under her chair that goes off when the music ends or if she stands up. Beckman had unknowingly been storing the final key for the Intersect in her badge for quite a while. Quinn takes it and runs to the roof where Chuck and Sarah try to convince him to give it up. Jeff and Lester have arrived at the Concert Hall where Morgan and Casey tell them to go perform a final Jeffster! performance. Quinn tells Chuck and Sarah that the music is going to end right now, but...

Jeffster! Quinn pulls out a gun, but that's a no-no with Sarah. Sarah finally kills Quinn. He is dead. But there's still a bomb. Chuck gets the glasses, ready to get Sarah's memories back, but he realizes that there's no way to disarm the bomb if he doesn't have the Intersect. Thinking unselfishly, Chuck puts the glasses on and with none left, Chuck has the Intersect once and for all. Now time to diffuse the bomb. With Take on Me still playing and Morgan leading the orchestra, Casey, Sarah, and Chuck are diffusing the bomb just like in the pilot. Another glimpse of Sarah's memory as she reminds him of Irene Demova. Chuck uses it and stops the bomb and Beckman is saved along with the theater. Sarah still does not fully remember, however. Everyone returns to Burbank, the Buy More, the Nerd Herd, and Castle safe and sound. This is the end of Beckman. She says "If you ever feel like saving the world again. You know where to find me." Beckman then walks out of the office. As Chuck, Casey, and Sarah (the original three) are left alone, Casey exits before it gets sappy, but before he goes...

Casey hugged! It's so depressing to see him walk out though. Sarah follows suit, leaving Chuck all alone. Operation Bartowski is officially over. Now what about the rest of them? This is the end of Alex and Casey. Morgan and Alex announce that they are moving in together. Casey gives them his apartment and sets off to find Gertrude. This is the end of Big Mike, Jeff, and Lester. Jeff and Lester are telling Mike all about the spy business that they stumbled upon. Mike doesn't believe them and he announces that new owners are moving in. Apparently, Subway (the company that saved the show along with the fans) has bought the Buy More. A German record producer comes in and tells Jeff and Lester that they were big hits in Germany. They walk out of the Buy More to pursue their rock star dreams. This is the end of Mary, Clara, Awesome, and Ellie. Awesome and Ellie and Clara are moving to Chicago with new medical jobs and Chuck's mother is helping them pack. Chuck says that he's finally grown up and they can go. This is the end of Morgan. Chuck and Morgan are sitting outside in the courtyard, just talking. Morgan asks Chuck, in your heart, where do you think Sarah is right now? This is the end of Chuck and Sarah. Chuck goes to the beach where, in the pilot, Sarah told him that he's gonna be alright. Sarah is sitting there and Chuck sits down next to her. He tells her that he will always be there for her. Sarah tells Chuck to tell her their story. Chuck says, "It started with a guy who worked at the Buy More. And then one day, an old college roommate told him his brain was filled with government secrets. The next day, his life really changed, when he met a spy named Sarah." Cue the Chuck/Sarah montage. After it concludes, Chuck tells Sarah that Morgan has a crazy idea where one magic kiss will bring her memory back. Sarah interrupts him and says "Chuck. Kiss me." And he does. And then it ended. That was the end. Chuck was over. The logo flashed across the scene. It read one word. Chuck.

So that's it. Chuck's all over. To be honest, this is the end of a show that hits me the hardest. I've seen shows come and go, whether it be Blue's Clues or Danny Phantom or The Class or The Event or One Life to Live. I think I'm now old enough to comprehend this and that's why the end of Chuck stings. A consistent dramedy for me to enjoy. But now it's over. No more Subway product placements, Casey grunts, nerd references or anything. Chuck is just over. I didn't think that I would cry and I was right, but it was still extremely sad. I will miss Chuck. This finale reminded me why I love Chuck with all of the references of the pilot, I loved Chuck. Now I miss Chuck. He was saving the world for $11 an hour. I give props to NBC giving it five seasons when other stations would have given it one. The ratings faltered, but they let it go out on it's own terms. What did I love about Chuck? Everything. Everything worked and blended well. There was such chemistry. Now the ending. There was much controversy on the ending. Personally, I think Morgan was right. They subtly dropped hints that she was getting her memory back, slowly, but surely. Chuck told her their story and then he kissed her. I think the kiss gave her memory back. Whoever says otherwise will not be able to take my happiness away. Chuck is such a good show and I will miss it dearly. I consider it to be one of the TV greats.

And like the last episode, I will follow suit,

Chuck.
