Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray

In the new Ghostbusters reboot (sequel?), Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Melissa McCarthy will star. Additionally, Chris Hemsworth has been cast in a role. But two more actors are confirmed to have cameos in the movie. They are, of course, two actors from the first two Ghostbusters films, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. Unfortunately, there will be no appearance from Harold Ramis, obviously, which I think is part of the problem this ill-fated movie. It's not even said whether or not they will be playing their characters from the original movies. I just don't know...

Jimmy Fallon on The Spoils Before Dying

The long-awaited sequel series to IFC's iconic The Spoils of Babylon, The Spoils Before Dying, aired its six episodes over the course of three days in July. It was an immensely entertaining show that I will be sure to touch upon in an upcoming post, but I thought it was worth noting that the great Jimmy Fallon had a cameo in it. He's not always partaking in many acting roles. (He was great in it as a former detective!)

My first exposure to 2011's The Muppets was the music. There was a special Sirius XM Radio station for the music and I was thinking that it was pretty decent. Sure enough, upon viewing the whole movie, I became obsessed with the soundtrack. It was classic Muppets, in some cases, literally. Some of the greatest songs ever performed by the Muppets combined with new surefire tunes of memorability. The Muppet Show theme song is performed twice, along with a goosebumps-inducing rendition of Rainbow Connection. But new songs, like Pictures in My Head, Me Party, and Man or Muppet, also worked their ways into the hearts of Henson fans the world over. A great soundtrack.

For his follow up to The Office, Creed Bratton released a new "show" on his Facebook page titled What Next? with Creed Bratton that deals with the "third act" of the actor's life. It's a peculiar thing, but worth sharing because, hey, he's a part of The Office forever.

Jurassic World Sequel

As much as I loved how Jurassic World ended and how much I thought it would be a perfect conclusion for the franchise, once it became the third highest-grossing movie of all-time, I had a feeling there would be a sequel announced regardless. Sure enough, there has been. Jurassic World 2 will be coming on June 22, 2018 with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning to star and Colin Trevorrow writing the script with Derek Connolly. Who knows? Maybe it'll be good.

50 Favorite Albums: 43

I'll admit it. I do like Maroon 5. I know not many people do, but I think they're one of the few bright spots in the current state of pop music. Those who are lukewarm on Maroon 5 cite their decline in quality as a reason why. But I disagree. I think Maroon 5 has only gotten better (though, more centralized on Adam Levine). They've always been in the pop genre, but recently, their songs have started to get catchier. This Love and She Will Be Loved are classics, but on Overexposed, they recorded Payphone, Daylight, and Love Somebody. All hits and all something more than generic radio plays.
