45 Favorite Episodes: 33

The (unfortunately so) series finale of Freaks and Geeks, Discos and Dragons, is my favorite episode of the show. The run of the show seemed like it was always building up to this and the climax wasn't a huge one. It was just a relatively low-key one, just like the show always was, within and without. Lindsay Weir finally embraces who she believes to be her true self, that's true, (and it is how the episode ends), but the heart of the episode comes from a rare freak/geek crossover event (not even Nick dancing to disco! In the eighties!) that saw James Franco's Daniel DeSario playing Dungeons and Dragons with the rest of the geeks. And the kicker? He'd be happy to return and play some more. And so would we.

The Muppets Are Back

This always seemed like it was the next logical step in the lore of The Muppets. After their triumphant return thanks to Jason Segel in 2011, they made Muppets Most Wanted, which was still good, but not as good and it didn't make as much money. To bring our beloved friends back to the small screen for a new series made perfect sense. And ABC understood that, too. The first trailer is above and it was given an order to series! Yay! I'm on board. It's time to light the lights.

Fuller House Is a Thing

Well. It's official. I can't have children. Fuller House is going to be an actual thing. Netflix is reviving Full House as a thirteen-episode series to come in 2016. The show will be about D.J. Tanner, all grown up, raising her kids with the help of Stephanie, her sister, and Kimmy Gibbler, her best friend, once her husband dies. Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber are all set to reprise their respective roles. Additionally? John Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier will all be making recurring appearances on the show (as they should). Lori Laughlin said she has not yet been approached, but would be willing and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are "mulling it over." Here's hoping Steve isn't the one who died!

45 Favorite Episodes: 34

This is a hugely underrated episode of Scrubs. While I adore the show and became attached to it for its wonderful sense of humor, the episodes with heart were the ones that kept me addicted. This one isn't an outright sad episode, but it's a remarkable one with precise attention to detail and masterful storytelling. The one hundredth episode, My Way Home, pays homage to The Wizard of Oz as J.D. is trying to get home (after a great Braffian rendition of Africa by Toto), Turk is searching for a heart, Eliot is seeking knowledge, and Carla wants to gather courage. The Janitor is painting a yellow line (though he spray-painted J.D.'s shoes ruby red) and Dr. Cox's nickname for J.D. in this episode? Why that would be Dorothy, of course. Ted crushes the end of this episode with a touching song that reminds us why we return to Sacred Heart time and time again.
