Dan Harmon on IFC

This sounds pretty amazing. IFC has ordered a late night talk show pilot for its channel and the show will be hosted by the creator of shows like Community and Ricky and Morty, Dan Harmon. But there's a twist. It's not your average talk show. The guests will be comedians pretending to be historical figures. In the pilot, apparently, Seaton Smith will play Frederick Douglass, Robert Smigel will play Albert Einstein, Roy Albanese will become Benjamin Franklin, and Eleanor Roosevelt will look a lot like Bonnie McFarlane. Sign me up for this show!

50 Favorite Albums: 14

There is nothing, for the majority of people, to set this album apart from the many in Frank Sinatra's entire discography. But for me, it's really special. I mean, everything about it just exudes swing. I've Got You Under My Skin is one of Sinatra's most popular songs and you think that'd be the big takeaway from this album. That is, until album provides you with a dose of You Make Me Feel So Young, one of two songs from Sinatra's tenth album that also appears on the soundtrack for Elf, the other being Pennies from Heaven. This whole album is just filled with real nice and real easy listening. It takes you back.

The Life of Zooey Deschanel

We love Zooey Deschanel here at this blog and it is definitely worth it to share some pretty cool things that she did recently. First of all, she got married to the man pictured with her above, Jacob Pechenik. Also, in Austin, Texas in late July, the two had a daughter together! Zooey is growing up right before our eyes.

Tumblr Can Be Funny

I'm not a big fan of Tumblr, but sometimes there is some good humor to be found. A recent Buzzfeed list compiled twenty-eight of these moments of solid comedy for a good read that, if I may suggest it to you, is best read at night when you're tired. You can read it here and my favorite is pictured above.

50 Favorite Albums: 15

Perhaps there is no album that changed the world more than Please Please Me, the debut album from The Beatles. It rocked England so hard that the ripple effect reached The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9th, 1964, and, shortly thereafter, it rocked the entire planet. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were now exposed to the world, but their songs were also actually pretty legendary in quality. Twist and Shout and Love Me Do each exploded off the album, but none did this more than I Saw Her Standing There, a song that kicked off the after-party for Saturday Night Live's fortieth anniversary special. It's just so influential. This album absolutely killed it.

September 2015 Covers of the Month

The Fall TV Preview is always an enjoyable read, but it gets even better when Neil Patrick Harris, two Muppets, and one degree of separation from Josh Peck grace the cover.

There's nothing like Tom Brady valiantly defeating the NFL.
