Well the D23 Expo Needs To Come Quicker

August 20th is the date of the D23 Expo. This is likely when Disney will release details and titles of their upcoming Marvel and Pixar movies. We already know that there will be an Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Amazing Spiderman, Amazing Spiderman 2, and the Avengers. So it's only likely that the two mystery Marvel movies will be The Avengers 2 and Captain America 2. Disney's releasing a movie called The Odd Life of Timothy Green in 2012. But then there's the Pixar question. We already know Brave will be released in 2012 and Monsters Inc 2: Monsters University will be released in 2013. But there will be another Pixar movie released in 2014, but Disney is not saying much about it. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that it could be any one of these four:

  • Original movie about dinosaurs from Up director
  • A sequel to the Incredibles
  • A sequel to Finding Nemo
  • A possible Toy Story 4
Personally I hope it's either a Finding Nemo sequel or an original dinosaur movie. The least likely option is a sequel to The Incredibles. Although it's probably the best set-up for a sequel, director Brad Bird is already knee deep in two other projects. Tom Hanks earlier said that he thought the Pixar crew was working on a Toy Story 4. I think the Toy Story trilogy ended perfectly and shorts would be a good way to follow up. Ellen DeGeneres has spoken about a Finding Nemo 2 many times and it might happen. The dinosaur movie is a good chance because Pixar needs to have 5 original movies to keep their contract with Disney in place. Back in 2006 they signed a new deal. They could make sequels, but they also had to have 5 original movies. Since then they've made Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3, and Cars 2. Brave will be an original movie so a dinosaur movie could make 5. We'll just have to wait and see!
