Dialect Quiz

The New York Times really nailed this quiz. (You can take it by clicking on any of the words inside the parenthesis.) It asked 25 questions about how I refer to different things like "y'all" and "highway." It got my location right on the nose. Two of the three locations it listed as possibilities were in Massachusetts. One was the closest it could have been to my actual hometown. The other was in Florida, but what can you do? So cool.
