Other than Ted Williams and David Ortiz eventually, there may be no Red Sox player who deserves a statue more than Carl Yastrzemski. Arguably the second-greatest baseball player to ever don a Red Sox uniform, Yaz has had his number retired by the organization. He will be forever immortalized outside of Fenway Park with a bronze figure depicting his reaction to the thunderous standing ovation he received for his final career at-bat. Very deserving.
Quite a fitting tribute!
