Danie, Jimmy, and Tim: A Love Story

The July 24 installment of The Tonight Show hashtags was #WorstBirthdayEver. Here's one of the tweets that made it onto the show.

Jimmy made a comment and laughed about it. Then, he said that he bet Tim would tweet at her because he's a good guy. Cue Tebow.

And Jimmy.

Isn't that so cool? Gosh, these two are just awesome. Love when people do that!

August 2014 Covers of the Month

The first cover from Sports Illustrated in August this year, was one in honor of the magazine's sixtieth anniversary. Pictures from readers created a mosaic that was a recreation of the very first cover.
This cover was also the first in the month from Entertainment Weekly! At first, I thought it was photoshopped, but no that's actually Julia Louis-Dreyfus making it seem like she's Frank Underwood from House of Cards. (Kevin Spacey as Selina Meyer from Veep is in the corner.)

Community Movie Posters

Don't get too excited, now. These are simply poster, fan renditions of some of the all-time great Community episodes if they were done for cinema. Included are such signature installments as Modern Warfare (the very first "concept" episode), Cooperative Calligraphy (the finest bottle episode), and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (Dan Harmon's favorite episode). Above is my personal favorite, ,but you can see all of them here at Entertainment Weekly!

Mary Poppins Quits

We all know Kristen Bell can sing as she did play one of the leads in Frozen. It makes sense, then, that she play Mary Poppins in a new Funny or Die sketch which features Bell as Poppins. Fed up with minimum wage and wanting a raise, Poppins decides to quit her job as the nanny to the Banks children. It's not laugh out loud funny, but cute and enjoyable.

#EverySimpsonsEver

FXX has changed the game. Since August 21, they have aired every episode of The Simpsons to ever be back-to-back and it all ends with one last episode tonight at 11:30. They even aired The Simpsons Movie! It was a twelve day endeavor with five-hundred and fifty-two episodes and I definitely watched my fair share of them. It was just so reminiscent of how truly great The Simpsons once was. Let's remember it that way. Also, this advertisement for the event is top-notch.

Live New Yorker Cartoons

Late Night with Seth Meyers has so many great recurring sketches. From Seth's Affirmations ("I have as many problems as I had characters on SNL.") to Fake or Florida? to Esteemed Guests, you can always count on the bits to be clever, amusing, and engaging. Live New Yorker cartoons are no different. David Remnick will come on the show and then the "Late Night players" will act out the comics with Seth and David commenting on them. It's very entertaining. Here's the most recent installment.
