The Simpsons were in jeopardy. The writers knew that. The actors knew that. FOX knew that. The actors (Castellana, Cartwright, Kavner, Smith, Azaria, Shearer) would be willing to take a 30% pay cut. FOX wanted them to take a 45% pay cut. Harry Shearer convinced them to take a 70% pay cut. The cooperation saved a well-loved show. It will continue for a 24th and 25th season. Yay! The executive producer of the show said that they don't see it as an end, but as a beginning. How can you? The show was on the verge of ending. You can't expect it to go any longer than 25 seasons. Please provide us with a good ending Matt Groening. Don't have me groaning.
Let's hope they do have at least a good finale in mind. The show deserves that much after 25 years!
