Seeing as how 100 years ago, it had been five days since the Titanic sank, Neatorama provided five myths about the Titanic. Here they are:
White Star Line never said that the Titanic was unsinkable.
The band may not have played "Near My God To Thee" as it sank.
Captain Smith was not a hero and never issued an Abandon Ship warning.
J. Ismay did not leave everyone else to fend for themselves.
Third class passengers were not forced below the decks.
At the exhibit we saw, Ismay was said to have slipped into a lifeboat, saying the seat was empty, so "why not". Hmm...
