In the first of a few characters on the list who were first characters in literature and then brought to life in film, is Juror Number Three from 1957's 12 Angry Men. Yes, Juror Number Eight is the protagonist, but Number Three is the best one of the group. There's many layers to him and Lee J. Cobb portrayed him perfectly.
I want to see this movie! I know, I have had years to do it, but still. :)
