The latest, stellar, should-have-won-the-Oscar-for-Best-Animated-Short Mickey Mouse short film, Get a Horse, has a lot of depth in it, from the breaking of the fourth wall, to the mix of black and white and color, with old characters, new, and even the vocals of Walt Disney as Mickey. Entertainment Weekly spoke with director Lauren MacMullan about the various secrets of the making of Get a Horse! There are little gags, "twisted literalism," and cartoon logic. All in all,
a very enlightening countdown of ten secrets that went into creating one of the great short films of our time. A nice throwback.
