March Madness!

Alright let's break it down.

The East bracket. You see Ohio State, Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Those are some big names in just one corner. All four make it hard for Ohio State to advance. What else makes it hard for the Buckeyes to move on? Those pests. You know the pests I'm talking about. The bracket busters that just won't go away? Davidson of '08. Butler of '10. George Mason of '06. Heck, even Kansas of '08. This corner is full of 'em. George Mason, Villanova, Clemson, Princeton, Xavier, Marquette, and Washington. It'll be tough, but I see Ohio State advancing to the Final Four because Sullinger will be to much for Fab Melo to take on in the long run. Their speed will outlast the other teams' heights.

The West bracket. Almost all of the teams in this corner are capable of long runs. UConn for sure. They just won five games in five days, and they have not lost one game this season in tournament play. Duke's there, they won last year. Also San Diego State who prevailed against BYU when it mattered most. All but two of the teams, San Diego State and UConn, are too weak and flimsy and just not healthy enough to keep their name in the papers. You might notice I have Missouri over Cincinnati even though the cats have made runs in the past. One that stands out is Texas over Duke. Sure Duke's got momentum, experience, a chance to repeat, and impact players. Nolan Smith is the X-Factor though. And he's not healthy. Jordan Hamilton can power over all others. UConn will be led by Kemba who is determined to not lose one tournament game this season. They move on.

The Southwest bracket. Some might call it the power corner. I call it the worst corner. All the extra teams have just been thrown into this bracket. I had trouble deciding which teams could prevail because none are strong enough to go all the way. Kansas has trouble beating small-town teams which is why I have Richmond defeating them. I remember watching their overconfidence and weak game versus Northern Iowa last year in the second round at T.G.I. Friday's. But how did Richmond get there? The Spiders proved themselves in the A-10 tournament and Louisville is tired and Vanderbilt is just not good in March Madness. Purdue and Notre Dame is an equal matchup with Moore and Harangody but I have Purdue going to the Final Four banged up and fried and haired.

The Southeast bracket. Upset. Central! Pittsburgh is unproven to me and come on at least one number one seed has to make the Final Four and go down early. You've already seen my 12 over 5 and apparently Florida has a 90% chance or 5/1 odds to make it past UCSB? More like 100%. Utah State is the best double-digit seed playing Kansas State. K-State made a late run led by Pullen but I don't know what it is. I'm just skeptical about them. Utah St. over Kansas St. Old Dominion is crazy good but unknown. I just know they can take down Butler and Pitt. The Zags are America's team but up against America's man, Jimmer, they can't do it. Despite how much the fans would love to see Jimmer vs. Kemba, without Davies BYU can't because they'll go down to Parsons and Florida. I almost picked Mich St. over Florida because Mich St. always makes a deep run in March. But on paper Mich St. can't seem to get it done. Florida is wicked hot right now so you'll see them in the Final Four.

The Final Four. Ohio State, Connecticut, Purdue, and Florida. Those are my picks to be seen in the Final Four. I think Kemba can take down Sullinger with his mid-range jumpers and speed. The bench will be able to help Florida overcome Purdue and because Purdue is just a sleeper.

The Championship. Connecticut vs. Florida. Kemba vs. Parsons, eh? Well, I sound like a broken record but UConn can win it all with their speed, mid-range, momentum, bench, undefeated in tournaments, and Kemba. UConn baby!

Who you got?
