My 100th October (2011) Post!
Yes I know 100 Grand means 100,000, but this was the closest to a 100 related Halloween picture I could find. This is the second time I've posted 100 times in October. Hoorah!
The Candy Champion
Trick or treat! The candy tournament is coming to a close. After a month of delicious chocolate, wonderful peanut butter and fruity goodness we finally have our chomp-ion. This classic candy survived first round, SWEET sixteen, elite ate, final four, and chomp-ionship. After taking down many difficult opponents and many votes, the chomp-ion is the classic Hershey Bar!
Congratulations to the most famous candy of all time. It was well deserved and well fought. Swedish Fish, Heath, Tootsie Roll, Junior Mint, and M&Ms were all taken down by the mighty Hershey's. It was great fun. Happy Halloween!
The Office - The Simpsons - Halloween
Combine all three and you get delightfulness! Watch it! Sure is a tough way to catch a mouse!
Well Google Is Slipping
Stop changing what works. Netflix tried it and they're faltering and now Google. Google changed Google Reader so you can only share things on Google+. Therefore, to see my shared items you should add me on Google+. To fill the void of the lost widget, I added two more. Blog statistics and popular posts. Sorry, but enjoy.
Happy Halloween!

I Finally Found The Song
I've heard it in a Pixar movie. A Pixar video. On Unforgettable. On The Mentalist. On Supernatural. On The Good Wife. On Franklin and Bash. On Community. I never knew what it was. But I stumbled across it. I found it! It's Intro by the XX. You'll probably recognize it as that song that plays when they catch the killer or comfort the victim.
Well It's The End Of The 2011 MLB Season
And while I'm still working on the 2011 season in review piece, the end also means the end of the John Krasinski/Alec Baldwin rivalry New Era commercials. The two actors were only slated to do commercials for one year. What better place to relive them, start to finish, than this blog? None. Here you are:
I wish there had been a more fitting ending, but still good nonetheless.

The Lorax
We've seen The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears A Who, now there's The Lorax, I like that! I never read the book, but I'd like too. Especially since he's orange, not blue. Here's the trailer for the movie, I think it's really kind of groovy:
All the Dr. Seuss movies come out in March...maybe to sell some starch and parch. I'd like to see a Green Eggs and Ham flick. That's my favorite book and I'd see it lightning quick.
Forgot To Post About It. I Meant To. But, You Know.
Many say Tebow can't do it. Can't replace any QBs, can't win a championship, can't win a second championship, can't win a third championship, can't win a Heisman, can't be nominated for a Heisman again, can't win a Maxwell, can't win a second Maxwell, can't be drafted, can't be drafted in the first round, can't play well, can't start, can't play for the Broncos, can't throw a touchdown, can't comeback. But you know what? He did all of that. Down 15-0? Two minutes left? No big deal. Down 15-7? 57 seconds left? No big deal. Down 15-13? 23 seconds left? No big deal. Up 18-15 for the win? Tebow did that! Hah! You naysayers are proven wrong. Just wait 'til he takes down the mighty Lions.

Dustin Pedroia and Andre Ethier Go To Disney World!
Conclusion of the Muppet Advertising Plan
Was there any ad campaign better than this? Many parody trailers, dozens of posters, a standee, various commercials, character profiles, web videos, TV spots, and exposition appearances. All good things must come to an end though, right Brett Favre? I love the campaign. It's concluding. With a FANTASTIC last parody trailer. I love it. I think I saw Ken Jeong. Watch it. Now. Why aren't you watching it? Is it because of these words? You don't have to read them. They're just filler. Suspense for the video. Just click play. What's stopping you? Is it because these words are somewhat interesting? Cause they're not. The video is better. Trust me. The Great Pumpkin's on tonight. I'd rather watch that than the trailer. But that's not 'til eight. Don't you want to watch the video. Why aren't you? You've probably stopped reading this. You won't be satisfied with this post until you do though. I know what I'm doing. Trust me. I've gone down this path before. What about the red brick road path? Where does that lead? Narnia? Pffft. Fantasy. It's a bunch of hooplah. I've lost my way.
Halloween Month Day 27: Favorite Villain Event At A Disney Park
HalloWishes at the Magic Kingdom is a great spectacle. It's basically just another fireworks show until the villains take over. The evil queen drenches Cinderella Castle in jack-o-lanterns. Captain Hook and Jafar take over the P.A. system. Maleficent is the headmaster of this whole project. It concludes with Jack Skellington and a rousing rendition of This Is Halloween.

The Office Halloween!
The Office has never really had bad Halloween episode. Jim's costumes have always been funny. But this year seems to be a whole new take. With Michael gone the whole office is getting in on the costume fun. From what I've seen, Creed is Osama bin Laden, Phyllis is the Mad Hatter, Andy is a construction worker, Stanley is a chef, Meredith is Kate Middleton, and Kevin is Dwayne Wade. What will Jim be? I can't wait to find out! In the past he's been, three-hole punch Jim, Dave, BookFace, and Popeye!
The Chomp-ionship
It's come down to arguably the two most popular candies. The number one overall seed vs. the number two overall seed. Hershey's. The delicious, milk chocolate, classic candy bar that is the first thing that comes to mind when people think chocolate or Halloween or candy. M&Ms. They melt in your mouth not in your hand. The yummy, convenient, bite-size candy is very addictive. Especially around Halloween. Now it's up to you. What is the best Halloween candy of all time? Here's the matchup:
Hershey's vs. M&Ms
You have until Sunday. The winner will be announced on Monday, Halloween.

Evaluation of Fall's New Shows
The time has once again come for my evaluation of the new shows added to the Fall TV schedule. Obviously I love Psych, Community, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, etc. But how are the newbies faring? This is what I'm hear to evaluate. Without further ado, Monday:
Monday
2 Broke Girls - CBS. It's a good show. Seems to be loosely based on Laverne and Shirley. The actresses need to find their groove a little bit. It's a good bridge to 'Mother' and 'Men.' The supporting characters are hilarious. B-
Terra Nova - FOX. My dad says it's not very exciting. He said it's about people going back into time for dinosaurs and they focus on personal lives. Doesn't seem great to me, but a good concept. Maybe 2 seasons out of it. C-
The Playboy Club - NBC. This came in looking like the prominent new show for NBC, but the ratings were trash. A trip back to the 30's was shut down by NBC, 2 weeks into the fall year. Obviously it's not gonna get a good grade. F
Tuesday
Last Man Standing - ABC. Good to see Tim Allen back on ABC. He's good in the role and it's a good ratio of parents to children and Allen is just fantastic. Probably one of the few good shows in this poor year. A-
Man Up - ABC. They tried to hard. Seemed like they wanted the characters to fit the mold of every other television character ever. Poor concept for a first episode also. And the kids are just downright ugly. D+
Unforgettable - CBS. Seems like another one of those average cop dramas, but of course they add a twist. She remembers everything she sees. Too much focus on the main character and I don't see this getting renewed. C
Ringer - CW. Much too confusing with Gellar playing two roles. I couldn't even follow the storyline. If this was on any other network it would've been cancelled, but good CW shows are few and far between, so it got a full season pickup. C-
New Girl - FOX. Fox actually surprises me. They have TWO good comedies. I thought I'd never see the day. New Girl has good humor, but there's not to much attention put on the Deuschnael girl. Very good show, probably my favorite of the year. A+
Wednesday
Suburgatory -ABC. It seems to quaint. Too Whoville for my liking. It can be funny at times, but I don't think it's good fit between the Middle and Modern Family. It'll probably go the whole year, but end like Better With You. C+
Revenge - ABC. I've heard very good things about it calling it the new LOST. They seem to be making big progress, but to me it doesn't seem like LOST. Something about it says that it's gonna falter midseason and not pull through to 2013. Not terrible, though. B-
H8R - CW. This was a joke right Mario Lopez? Right? It's not is it? This was just a bad idea from the get-go and it's already been cancelled. You really have to put effort into being bad to be cancelled by the CW, three weeks in. F
The X-Factor - FOX. Personally, I'm sick of all the new reality competition shows. Simon Cowell's ego actually got bigger in this one. Abdul has already cried. It seems like people watch it just to watch it. D
I Hate My Teenage Daughter - FOX. Absolutely zero advertising for this. I didn't even know existed. I'm not sure FOX does either. Can I give it a fair grade then? Yes, everything's fair game whether I've seen it or not. Like Spader said, winners prove me right, losers prove me wrong. D-
Up All Night - NBC. Will Arnett's actually done something right. I don't think that Maya Rudolph is absolutely necessary to this show's success, but whatever works. I think they're trying to go with a Raising Hope motif. Not bad. B-
Free Agents - NBC. Hey, Hank Azaria. Stick to the Simpsons so we don't have to look at you. I guess everyone stopped watching NBC after Up All Night because Free Agents was flushed out by the peacock very early. Any show that gets cancelled before I evaluate them gets an F. F
Thursday
Charlie's Angels - ABC. Hey not everything can be Hawaii Five-O. That applies to Charlie's Angels. The remake faltered despite all they hype around Minka Kelly. Let's see if the new Dallas can go a different route. F
How To Be A Gentleman - CBS. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffft. That whole show was a joke. F-
Person of Interest - CBS. Michael Emerson is wonderful in probably the best new drama. He's definitely distancing himself from LOST. All though I smile when they say the words island, lost, or Ben. A
Whitney - NBC. I'm sorry, but no. I tried to like it, but I couldn't. It made me miss The Office that much more. It's just not that electrifying or memorable. No such luck for this wannabe comedy. That exploits Dunder Mifflin in advertising campaigns. D-
Prime Suspect - NBC. I am extremely nervous for NBC. Once all these good shows that they have going for 'em exit what will they be left with? Prime Suspect doesn't seem to be sticking around. There may actually be a year when everything on NBC is a new show. D-
Friday
A Gifted Man - CBS. It hasn't been aired yet so that's kind of unfair to judge it, but it definitely seems interesting. I said everything was fair game so it'll still get a grade. Looks like CBS has a solid Friday block. C+
Grimm - NBC. Grimm seems to be the stronger of the two fairy-tale drams this year. I think it will probably be better than Once Upon A Time. Grimm seems to focus on the new takes on the classic fairy tales. Fair game. B
Sunday
Once Upon A Time - ABC. I can see this falling into another one of those cliche cop dramas and straying from the original path of fairy tales. It's a shame to automatically know how shows will fall. D+
Pan Am - ABC. It was worse than I thought it would be, but not bad. I like the 50's and 60's shows that really replicate what it was like. Enjoyable to watch, but I've only seen the first episode and I'd be intrigued to see more. B+
Allen Gregory - FOX. Fox is really trying to capitalize on these animated comedies. I think they should bring Bob's Burgers back early and have that go with Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad. Just give up on the Cleveland show. Bring the Browns back to Quahog. D
Well that's all. Check back next year for even more evaluations!

The Definition Of Gone Too Soon
Look it up. You'll see a picture of Dan Wheldon. The most promising career I've ever seen in auto racing was tragically cut short yesterday when a fiery 13-car wreck erupted at an IndySeries track. He was a great man. He had won the Indy 500 twice, once in 2005 and again in 2011. He was clearly devoted to racing, but he was also a family man. Gone too soon. He was only 33 years old. He was on his way to single-handedly bringing IndyRacing back on the map. In an interview at Disney World celebrating his Indy 500 win, he talked more about his family than his racing career. A class act.

Quick Thanks
I'd would like to quickly thank Cal for posting my Candy Tournament on his blog! Thanks!
Good Riddance
Francona didn't want to be back. Epstein left when things got ugly. Couldn't Theo help repair Boston? Nope he just wants out. Now Youkilis might be out, Lackey's definitely gone, the entire coaching staff may be wiped out, Drew's retired, Wakefield and Varitek are about done, Ortiz may be headed for New York, Papelbon looks done, Beckett and Lester may be packing their bags, Crawford, Scutaro, and Reddick are at the end of their leashes. It's a very quiet clubhouse. Pedroia, Gonzalez, Ellsbury, Bard, Aceves, and Saltalamacchia are the only ones who avoided criticism. Even then Pedroia, Ellsbury, Gonzalez, Bard, and Aceves still made headlines. Saltalamacchia is the only one left. Thanks a lot Theo. You mess everything up and then quit. Not to mention you brought in Lackey, Drew, AND Gagne. Unforgivable. Bad luck in Chicago.
