Sisters Trailer

While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler dropped the first full-length trailer for their new comedy, Sisters, which comes to theaters on December 18th. And I think I'm digging it. There were some humorous portions, as you would probably assume, but it's really Amy Poehler and Ike Barinholtz that kill it at the end. Looking forward to seeing these two on the big screen together again!

50 Favorite Albums: 41

Queen's music is very polarizing for me. Most of their songs are generic anthems, novelty songs if you will, that lose their luster very quickly. But they also have some gems like Don't Stop Me Now. Two of the songs I can enjoy, rather than tolerate or loathe, from Queen are on their album, A Night at the Opera, which served as somewhat of a showcase as to how great they really could have been. You're My Best Friend and Bohemian Rhapsody are two of their biggest hits and featured on this album and, of course, the latter has become recognized as what some music critics refer to as the greatest song ever made. I disagree, but I get where that comes from. It's a pretty good album in that sense.

Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray

In the new Ghostbusters reboot (sequel?), Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Melissa McCarthy will star. Additionally, Chris Hemsworth has been cast in a role. But two more actors are confirmed to have cameos in the movie. They are, of course, two actors from the first two Ghostbusters films, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. Unfortunately, there will be no appearance from Harold Ramis, obviously, which I think is part of the problem this ill-fated movie. It's not even said whether or not they will be playing their characters from the original movies. I just don't know...

Jimmy Fallon on The Spoils Before Dying

The long-awaited sequel series to IFC's iconic The Spoils of Babylon, The Spoils Before Dying, aired its six episodes over the course of three days in July. It was an immensely entertaining show that I will be sure to touch upon in an upcoming post, but I thought it was worth noting that the great Jimmy Fallon had a cameo in it. He's not always partaking in many acting roles. (He was great in it as a former detective!)

50 Favorite Albums: 42

My first exposure to 2011's The Muppets was the music. There was a special Sirius XM Radio station for the music and I was thinking that it was pretty decent. Sure enough, upon viewing the whole movie, I became obsessed with the soundtrack. It was classic Muppets, in some cases, literally. Some of the greatest songs ever performed by the Muppets combined with new surefire tunes of memorability. The Muppet Show theme song is performed twice, along with a goosebumps-inducing rendition of Rainbow Connection. But new songs, like Pictures in My Head, Me Party, and Man or Muppet, also worked their ways into the hearts of Henson fans the world over. A great soundtrack.

What Next? with Creed Bratton

"What Next? with Creed Bratton" (Pilot Episode)“The most important thing in this life, in this business, is relevance.” ~ Ray RyanLOGLINE:In an attempt to stay relevant an out of work actor takes on ordinary day jobs resulting in unpredictable, extraordinary results.SYNOPSIS:This fictional story, based on factual events, delves into the biological ether that is Creed Bratton. After 9 years of being “on top” in a hit tv show, Creed is faced with the harsh realities of accepting the third act of his extraordinary life and career. Unsure of his aging client’s future, Ray Ryan (Creed’s arrogant, smarmy, leach of an agent - and barely out of the mailroom) concocts a scheme; under the guise of “1st person research”, Ray convinces Creed that he can keep him “relevant” by getting him real world, young-people-work in exchange for 15% of his daily wages. A ridiculous proposal that Creed accepts with open arms. Each episode chronicles Creed’s enthusiastic first day of work on a new job, but inevitably ends with him being fired. Simply for being himself. However, all is not lost as the Tao of Creed (ever present) results in a lesson learned for all involved. Equal parts humor and humility, this series tackles those big life questions; legacy, work, purpose, happiness and animal spirits. Yes, animal spirits. This is a raw, hilarious, scripted, yet unpredictable look into the multidimensional life (and mind) of an intriguing artist, a public figure & an overall bizarre human that is being.

For his follow up to The Office, Creed Bratton released a new "show" on his Facebook page titled What Next? with Creed Bratton that deals with the "third act" of the actor's life. It's a peculiar thing, but worth sharing because, hey, he's a part of The Office forever.

Jurassic World Sequel

As much as I loved how Jurassic World ended and how much I thought it would be a perfect conclusion for the franchise, once it became the third highest-grossing movie of all-time, I had a feeling there would be a sequel announced regardless. Sure enough, there has been. Jurassic World 2 will be coming on June 22, 2018 with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning to star and Colin Trevorrow writing the script with Derek Connolly. Who knows? Maybe it'll be good.
