Just Make Him the Captain

I really don't think there's any doubt anymore that Dustin Pedroia, who has been with the Red Sox since 2006, should be the captain of the team. When Boston recently signed free agent Hanley Ramirez to a deal, Pedroia took it upon himself to call the shortstop and give him a few things to think about. In an interview, Ramirez summarized the call and said, "I've got this guy calling me. I don't know if you guys know him. His name's Dustin Pedroia. He called me and he was all over me. He just said, 'Congratulations and get everything together. I've got two rings, you don't have any, and I want some more.' Those little things pump you up and you try to be better every day." What a team player. Such a Pedroia call, though

  1. Definitely should be captain. Can't believe he is closing on ten years with the team soon! Time flies.
