DFTBA 2012 Champions

I really pushed the wire with this one. Drumroll please. It was a long fought battle that was spread over two days. I ended it at halftime last night around 8:00 because it got too dark. The score at the half? 50-50. I did not plan that at all. I just said, hey, one more shot, and it dropped. I played the second half just this morning and it was a back and forth affair. Seriously. Back and forth and back and forth. A three from Chandler here, but Erving Walker would fire right back. A layup from Joey, but a dunk from Tebow. Back and forth and back and forth. Towards the end, it reached a point where Friends (TV) led by 16 points, but Florida went on a 7-0 run, and then a 11-4 run. That would make the score 99-97 with the Gators in the lead. As you know, I play to 100 in the DFTBA Championship. Joey drew up a play where he faked a jumper over Walker, but swung it around to Chandler who popped a three right in Tebow's grill. And then it fell. And Friends (TV) was the champion. An uproarious celebration broke out on the court and the Championship Trophy was presented to them. Tebow and Walker were heartbroken with Tebow Tebowing and Walker just crouching. It was fantastic tournament that just goes to show you, Friends (TV) was an eight seed, but with their TBS showings, they gained momentum and got hot and they knocked out a former Final Four team in the first round in Sports. They defeated a tumultuous number one seed in Universal who only got the top seed due to the Consolation Tournament. They knocked off a team with a magical run in Toy Story. They defeated two seeded, The Office, in the Elite Eight. Man v. Food went down to Friends (TV) in the Final Four and Friends (TV) ultimately beat the Gators. Momentum counts. The hot team will win. Congrats to Friends! It was a great tourney and the awards will be announced in the week of April 23rd to April 27th. See you next year!
