Argument 30: What Was The Greatest Public Relations Gimmick In Boston Sports History?

Book Answer: Billy Sullivan Does The Laundry For Braves Fans

I have to pick the retiring of Johnny Pesky's number. I choose it because the fans had pushed for it and the ownership agreed to retire #6 and ignore the rules that they had in place for the retired number policy. However, I believe that they genuinely wanted to retire the number and they had finally found a way around it. It was a great thing that they had #6 up there before Pesky passed.

  1. Both sounds like interesting moments. The Sox have done a lot of these PR things lately!
