Lindsay Weir was the heart and soul of Freaks and Geeks, the cult television baby of Judd Apatow and Paul Feig. This was the type of show that, if it did anything but debut on NBC in the 1990s, it would have survived. With a cast like Martin Starr, Seth Rogen, Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Jason Segel, John Francis Daley, Busy Phillips, and Samm Levine, how could it do anything else? But Lindsay stands out because of how she had one foot in the geek group and the other in the freak group. She was torn between two factions while struggling heavily with her sense of self and her identity. Her story was the one that kept every viewer invested. The rest was just gravy.
