Argument 7: Was It the Curse or Bigotry That Kept the Red Sox From Overtaking the Yankees?

Don't blame the Babe. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Red Sox outfield could once have consisted of TED WILLIAMS, WILLIE MAYS, AND JACKIE ROBINSON. If it weren't for the racism, that is. Pictured here is the first African-American Red Sox player, Pumpsie Green. Jackie Robinson debuted in 1947. Pumpsie? 1959. If there was no bigotry, I don't know if they could have beaten 27 titles, but it'd be a lot more than 7 right now. I'll say that much.
