With the new Avatar portion of Animal Kingdom pushed back from 2015 to 2017, and possibly delayed further, rumors have been swirling that the inevitability of Marvel and Lucas Films coming to the Disney parks is fast approaching. Personally, I think that a completely new, fifth park would be the way to go. With that park, it could be divided into three portions featuring Disney acquisitions. One for Pixar, one for Marvel, one for Star Wars. It seems like a logical step for Disney. However, John Frost from the Disney Blog suggested that Hollywood Studios could simply expand to include a Star Wars land, a Floridian Cars Land, and two portions for Pixar and Monsters Inc. I'm still intrigued to see how Marvel fits into the equation, especially since Universal still has Marvel Superhero Island. Big things are coming to the parks.
Definitely big changes ahead. Whether a new park is in the cards or just expansions, will be interesting to watch it unfold.
