So, this week's Gatriots update is half-depressing. That's why I added the Red Sox to the mix!
The Gators continued their streak of stellar defense, but it unfortunately was not enough as they fell to the LSU Tigers, 17-6. Let's move on from the negativity, though!
Tom Brady throws an interception with 2:01 left and the Patriots down 27-23. Looks like the game is over and the Patriots will fall to the Saints. But, in Tom we Trust! Tom Brady marched down the field with a remarkable amount of completions following a New Orleans three-and-out. With five seconds left, he lofted the ball into the back of the end zone where Kenbrell Thompkins snatched it and scored the game-winning touchdown! A game-winning, comeback miracle!
Now, with the Red Sox in the mix, there's a third layer. I just had to add the Sox after their amazing win. Down 5-1 in the eighth inning, David Ortiz stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and he launched a grand slam into the bullpen that sent Torii Hunter up and the same to the police officer's hands. Then, Saltalamacchia hits the walk-off in the ninth!
The Pats and the Sox each had a .2% chance of winning in their respective, dire situations, combined. Yet, they still pulled it off. What a great day of sports, that Sunday the 13th.
If you say so! :)
