50 Favorite Albums: 48

Rolling Stone placed The Beatles' Revolver at third on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All-Time. I feel a little differently about it, of course, because I am placing it at forty-eight on my own list. But there's no doubting its greatness. Some of the most iconic songs, not just from The Beatles, but from any musical group, are on this album. Yellow Submarine, Here, There and Everywhere, Eleanor Rigby. Even what some consider The Beatles' best, Tomorrow Never Knows, is featured. The list goes on and on. Plus, it was the first exposure to the psychedelic melodies The Beatles would later come to boast as somewhat of a specialty.

  1. Great inclusion no matter where it falls on someone's list.
