Starburns, Evil Abed, 8-Bit, And More!

SPOILER
The Community season finale occurred just last night, and may I say, it was their greatest season finale of all time! It just goes to show you that they don't always have to be paintball (despite their awesomeness), it was a full 90 MINUTES of this blessed show!! It left me wishing that 30 Rock's Season Finale was either last week or the week after and we could have 120 minutes of Community. I would not have minded.

Part One: The Greendale Seven go into Cornelius Hawthorne's video game to get Pierce's inheritance. What ensues is a virtual lady friend for Abed, Annie and Shirley's murder of the blacksmith and his wife, and Pierce eventually giving his inheritance to his long lost brother who was also playing the game. The most hilarious episode of the night by far! Great stuff! Troy and Abed shooting laava!

Part Two: The Chang uprising takes over Greendale and the Greendale Seven plot to rescue the Dean. They execute an elaborate heist which includes a scenario where it seems like the plan is failing, but it's just a cover. Chang is overthrown and the Greendale Seven are eventually reinstated. However, to continue the plan, Troy had to sacrifice his time with friends and at Greendale and join John Goodman at the Air Conditioning Repair School.

Part Three: Troy is still at the ACRS and Abed is succumbing to loneliness and his nemesis from the Darkest Timeline, Evil Abed. Britta tries to cure him, but instead Evil Abed becomes Abed. Jeff is trying to settle the case between who is the rightful owner of the new sandwich shop, with Subway on the subWAY out. Is it Shirley or Pierce? Meanwhile, John Goodman's character, Vice Dean Laybourne dies in an accident that was a rookie mistake. Troy believes that one of his teachers killed him and he fights him with air conditioning repair until there is a yield...or death. Troy fixes his air conditioner and saves the other guy from dying, but not before he confesses to killing the voice of Sulley. Troy is released from the ACRS, but Abed is still Evil. He has convinced Britta to dye her hair, just like in the Darkest Timeline, and he is en route to cut off Jeff's arm, just like in the Darkest Timeline. However, Jeff settles the dispute between Shirley, Pierce, and a former lawyer colleague who tattled on Jeff, with a moving speech about sacrifice. This warms Evil Abed up and he sets the saw down. Back in the hallway, Abed is telling about what happened with Evil Abed when Troy shows up and hugs Abed. This is when it seems like Dan Harmon prepared for a series finale.

The show's theme song plays while sequences are shown. Shirley and Pierce opened their sandwich shop with a satisfied Dean nearby. Jeff has passed his biology final. Abed has taken off the evil beard and the Dreamatorium, but instead has made it portable. Troy moves his things back into the apartment, with Annie and Britta's help. Chang is seen crawling around in the vents of City College and he spots the Dean of City College planning an attack on Greendale. And PLOT TWIST: a man is shaving in the mirror and when he turns around, it is..........STARBURNS complete with blonde hair and well, star burns. Yes, it seemed like Harmon prepared, but the best thing about it all, is not just the heartwarming final scene of Season Three, but the fact that there are 13 more episodes (possibly more) to look forward to next year!

  1. Was a great, fun night. The 8-Bit episode was just pure genius! Hope the next 13 episodes are able to live up to this level.
