Tongue-in-cheek in-humor, satirical meta-comedy, and smart self-referential writing. The whole episode is basically a front for the show trying to save itself from being canceled by FOX. Every aspect of the show goes towards that as S.O.B.s stands for Save Our Bluths. It's an episode that if you ever sit down to watch it, you have to completely devote yourself to it.
