Maurice Sendak yesterday, Carl Beane today. Carl Beane, the public address announcer for the Boston Red Sox, died today after a car accident in Sturbridge. Beane has been with the Red Sox and Fenway since 2003. He's announced every game including Games One and Two of the 2004 and 2007 World Series'. He was 59 years old. Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls. Welcome to Fenway Park. It won't be the same, he's irreplaceable.
The picture is my mother, sporting his World Series ring in 2005.
Sad and shocking news.
