Book Answer: Reggie Lewis
Both were very tragic and a case can be made for either one. Lewis was an excellent player who was set to be the future of Boston basketball. So was Len Bias, however. Bias was the Celtics' first pick in the draft, but the next day he had passed away due to a drug overdose. He was set to revitalize the Big Three. Bird, Parish and McHale were nearing the end of their careers, but Bias was brought in to give them a few more championships. When it comes down to it, the championships determine success.
Sad any way you look it, really.
