The Haunted Mansion Lives

Remember when Disney went really hard on announcing a whole slew of movie adaptations of their theme park rides? (The Jungle Cruise, The Haunted Mansion, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, The Magic Kingdom, etc.) Well, there's finally been development on one of those productions. (So far, all we've seen come to fruition from those is a blockbusting franchise of Pirates of the Caribbean movies and the upcoming release of Tomorrowland.) Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of The Haunted Mansion seems to be making progress as Ryan Gosling has been cast the movie's lead. This is great news! There's still hope for The Magic Kingdom yet.

Hopefully this Haunted Mansion movie uses the wonderfully mysterious aesthetic of the ride itself.
