I wasn't sure what to expect when I started watching this movie in my adolescent literature class during my sophomore year in high school. I had heard amazing things about this movie, but I've also never been big on movies or television shows set in prison. It's just not my thing. But this was more than just a prison movie. This was a movie about friendship, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit. And yes, you've heard all that about this movie before, but it's okay. It's still great to hear again. Plus, not many movies show the climax on the poster, but this one does and it's still glorious.
