Well, it's happened. There have been rumors about the Boston Celtics trading Rajon Rondo for as long as I can remember, but now there is an ultimate truth to them. My favorite Celtics player since 2007 who played through it all. He played to an NBA championship, a return to the finals, the Skills Challenge, All-Star weekend, Sports Illustrated covers, and so much more en route to becoming the captain of the Celtics. And now, eight years after I took to him and his hustle, selfless play, he is no longer in Boston. On December 18, Rondo was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in return for Jameer Nelson (another great point guard), Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, and two draft picks. Thank you for everything, Rondo and I still wish you the best in your NBA career. You're still one of my favorite players. To help bid farewell to his time in The Hub, here is the video montage Boston created for the point guard upon his return to the Garden. The 2008 championship team is now completely dispersed.
Guess all good things come to an end, right?
