The first time I saw this movie was in history class in eighth grade and I had never heard of it before; I had no idea what to expect. But as it unfolded day-to-day, I loved it more and more because it was a sports movie that transcended the boxing ring and explored a remarkable foray into Depression-era drama. Some scenes are so hard to watch, but that's because the movie was made so well. It is a riveting film and one of the best sports masterpieces of the twenty-first century.
Sports drama directed by Ron Howard and written by Cliff Hollingsworth and Akiva Goldsman in 2005.
Starring: Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti, Bruce McGill, Craig Bierko, Paddy Considine, David Huband, and Rosemarie DeWitt.
Tune in Monday for number forty!
(hanging head in shame) Another I haven't seen.
