100 Favorite Movies: 47

One of the great comedies of the first decade in the twenty-first century, Dodgeball truly is a grand film. When I was younger, I was always bored by the scenes between the semi-final game and the championship game, but now that I'm old enough to appreciate what happens, the whole movie has become an athletic spectacle of wonderful talent. The scene when Justin Long just can't function is probably one of my all-time favorites in the history of movies; it just makes me laugh every time. The ending is so unbelievable as well, but it's all made acceptable by the words, "deus ex machina," on the treasure chest.

Sports comedy directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber in 2004.

Starring: Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Rip Torn, Hank Azaria, Justin Long, Stephen Root, Joel Moore, Alan Tudyk, Lance Armstrong, Chuck Norris, David Hasselhoff, Gary Cole, Jason Bateman, and William Shatner.

Tune in tomorrow for number forty-six!
