Remember the giant helicarrier from S.H.I.E.L.D. on which the majority of the middle of The Avengers took place? Well, apparently that might be a real piece of military equipment soon. DARPA, a division at the Pentagon, recently asked for high-level suggestions for more efficient means of transporting large pieces of machinery. They said, "One promising idea is enabling existing large aircraft, with minimal modification, to become 'aircraft carriers in the sky.'" Just keep Bruce Banner away from it and you'll be fine, DARPA.
