The New Yorker Profile of Billy Joel

It's been twenty-one years since Billy Joel released a new album, but he's become such a legend that it doesn't matter. That topic is just one of the many that is explored in Nick Paumgarten's ten thousand word profiling of Billy Joel for The New Yorker. It is unflinchingly comprehensive and interesting. Everything is there from the days where he was literally a piano man to the days where he is THE Piano Man. From a bar to the Garden, I definitely recommend this read of one of my favorite musicians of all-time - and one of the greats, too.

  1. Cool. Did not realize it had been so long since he released an album!
