As a part of NBC's presentation of Super Bowl XLIX, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon packed up and headed out west. Sunday night, after the Super Bowl, Jimmy went live for his show in Glendale, Arizona that was one of the best episodes he's ever done during his entire time on late night. Jimmy gathered basically every major singer in the world right now to sing We Are the Champions to celebrate the New England Patriots' victory.
Then, the Patriots even stopped by the show! (Well, LeGarrette Blount, Brandon LaFell, and Danny Amendola did.)
But the best moment of the night was not when Arthur asked about the Scooter Pole or Arnold Schwarzenegger sent the show to commercial with a "We'll be back." It was the epic, live lip-sync battle between Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Fallon, and surprise guest Drew Barrymore. Jimmy's Since You Been Gone, Will's Drunk in Love, and Kevin's Roar were definitely the best that were done, but the whole thing is a coveted spectacle.
But then, The Tonight Show returned to L.A...
...where Brian Williams rapped Who Am I?...
...Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, and Jimmy photobombed football fans...
...Neil Young sang Old Man beautifully with Neil Young...
...Ellen DeGeneres, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell played Password with Jimmy and Higgins...
...the cast of Saved by the Bell reunited in epic and unforgettable and fitting fashion...
...and Will Smith looped his voice with Jimmy's to sing It Takes Two...
It was an amazing week of shows for The Tonight Show. I always love when they go on vacation like that; there's always fun things in store. I'm telling you, Jimmy Fallon is doing something very special on television right now. Something very special.
Was a great post-Super Bowl episode and a great week in California. Jimmy seemed to have a cold or something, so hopefully he enjoyed it all as well.
