This movie is everything. It's so so so beautiful. Truly. Robin Williams gives one of the all-time great film performances, better than what he did in Good Will Hunting, I believe. His speech about "Carpe diem" and "seize the day" and "gather ye rosebuds while ye may," is one of the best ever seen in any movie. The film is so inspirational, but also so melancholy and the entire journey is paid off in the end when all of Keating's students rally around him. We say today to Robin Williams, "Oh captain, my captain." Dead Poets Society is tragic in so many ways, but equating to that is its beauty. And I'll love it forever.
Drama directed by Peter Weir and written by Tom Schulman in 1989.
Starring: Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, Gale Hansen, Norman Lloyd, and Kurtwood Smith.
Tune in tomorrow for number eleven!
Another I have never seen, even though I have always heard good things about it. :)
