There were two good Disney Animation movies in the years from 2000 to 2009. One was Lilo and Stitch, as you've seen in this list already. The other will be presented to you now. The Emperor's New Groove is such an odd and really less-true-to-form interpretation of the classic Hans Christian Andersen story. It's much different compared to Disney's other creations based off past stories. But The Emperor's New Groove...it transcends what Disney Animation "has" to be. It is, without a doubt, the funniest movie ever made by the company and it just makes me laugh every time I see it. I have to think it's thanks partly to the humor of its cast and the meta nature of it as a whole, but it's probably just a really great collaboration all around. Boom baby!
Animated comedy directed by Mark Dindal and written by David Reynolds in 2000.
Starring: David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, Patrick Warburton, Wendie Malick, Kellyann Kelso, Bob Bergen, Tom Jones, and Patti Deutsch.
Tune in tomorrow for number thirteen!
Great, funny film. Always rewatchable and always funny. So funny that it had such a weird road to getting made, since it seems like so well planned out!
