100 Favorite Movies: 83

I'm really not that big a fan of horror movies, but Jaws isn't really a horror movie at all. Sure, there's fear and terror and "Ah, I don't want to swim in the ocean ever again," but there's also real, genuine plot with good characters and really a terrific script. Maybe it'd be better to say it's just not a conventional horror movie. But I like it.

Thriller drama directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb in 1975.

Starring: Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gray, and Murray Hamilton.

Tune in tomorrow for number eighty-two!

  1. Definitely right. It is a great movie that happens to have fear and terror. A classic for good reason.
