100 Favorite Movies: 88

It's a slow movie and it's a long movie. It's the kind of movie you need to appreciate, but you also need to be able to appreciate it. It's simple, really. A basic premise with a much deeper content. The characters are strong and compelling and the story is framed exceptionally well. Most consider it the best ever, so I'm sorry it's at eighty-eight for all you New York Times critics out there, but hey. Six years ago, I would have been too young to include it at all. Progress.

Romantic drama directed by Michael Curtiz and written by Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein, Howard E. Koch, and Casey Robinson in 1942.

Starring: Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Dooley Wilson, and Peter Lorre.

Tune in tomorrow for number eighty-seven!

  1. I love it. Shows the best and worst if what people can do and be.
