50 Favorite Albums: 15

Perhaps there is no album that changed the world more than Please Please Me, the debut album from The Beatles. It rocked England so hard that the ripple effect reached The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9th, 1964, and, shortly thereafter, it rocked the entire planet. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were now exposed to the world, but their songs were also actually pretty legendary in quality. Twist and Shout and Love Me Do each exploded off the album, but none did this more than I Saw Her Standing There, a song that kicked off the after-party for Saturday Night Live's fortieth anniversary special. It's just so influential. This album absolutely killed it.
