Up until the point of this album, The Joshua Tree, U2 was a very soft, soothing, and peaceful sounding rock band, but this is what changed everything and gave the crew made up of Bono, Edge, Larry, and Adam their distinctively iconic sound. As much as I love Sunday Bloody Sunday, I can't argue that U2's most popular songs do, in fact, come from this album in the form of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and With or Without You. The world had been paying attention to U2 up until this point, but The Joshua Tree changed everything. It radicalized the world of music. It lead to the world worshiping U2 instead of just paying attention.

Good choice. I had a friend in Fall River who was a U2 fanatic, so he'd be happy. :)
