Red Sox Break a Different Curse
Everyone knows about the eighty-six year Curse of the Bambino that plagued the Boston Red Sox in their incredibly long championship drought that was set in motion by the trading of Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees. But there's another curse that was ended eleven years after that other one was. The Curse of Ben Affleck, which assured that, since the release of Good Will Hunting, the Sox had never won on Affleck's birthday, August 15th, since 1997, going 0-15. This year, the streak was broken when Boston beat the Seattle Mariners, 22-10. Quite the drubbing. After the win, Affleck thanked the Red Sox. It's been a long time coming.
