Trainwreck
Another movie I saw this summer was the premiere studio comedy of the season, Trainwreck. This was the "it" film vehicle for Amy Schumer, who has risen to comedy prominence thanks to her Comedy Central sketch show, Inside Amy Schumer. She wrote and starred in this movie, but she tapped Judd Apatow to direct it. The script was amazing, though. It was very funny, though not very tight. That's probably a fault of Apatow, though, because there's never a movie of his that doesn't feel like it's gone on a little too long. Regardless, Schumer killed it in the lead role and Bill Hader was also fantastic in his supporting turn. The supporting cast was also filled with very funny people like Vanessa Bayer, Daniel Radcliffe, Pete Davidson, Colin Quinn, and Matthew Broderick. But it was LeBron James who was the most surprising part. Because he, too, was hilarious. I recommend Trainwreck as probably the funniest film of the year so far.
