100 Greatest People 2014: 62-59

 62. Mitch Hedberg

Perhaps Mitch Hedberg is my all-time favorite stand-up comedian. His jokes were quick, smart, and (as they should be) funny. It's a shame we no longer get to hear or see him continue to be funny. The world collectively misses Mitch, but his jokes and legacy are always with us. "On a stoplight, green means go, yellow means hold on, and red means stop. On a banana, it's the exact opposite. Yellow means go, green means hold on, and red means where did you get that banana at?"

 61. Adam Scott

A bit of NBC comedy mixed with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty on this post. You'll see why later. Adam is a recurring actor on Drunk History and The Greatest Event in Television History, but most of all, he's a regular on Parks and Recreation. Ben Wyatt is my spirit character. Sure, his face is kind of shrewish, but you can't help but love Adam. He's the best!

 60. Chandler Bing

One of my two favorite characters on Friends, Chandler is awesome. He is self-described as "hopeless, awkward, and desperate for love." His overall role on Friends is to be the "funny guy" but he has some heart, too. Chandler is, simply put, one of the best television characters ever.

59. Kristen Wiig

And here is why I started my Adam Scott paragraph the way I did. Because Kristen was on Saturday Night Live and in the fantastic film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. In the film she played Cheryl Melhoff, but on SNL, she played many different people like Gilly and the Target Lady. She was also incredibly funny in Bridesmaids and I cannot wait for her upcoming film with Bill Hader, The Skeleton Twins.

  1. Definitely a heavy dose of comedians, which is always good. Hedberg is missed by many. :(
