100 Greatest People 2014: 78-75

 78. Bill Simmons

The ideal journalist. Simmons writes great articles and provides insightful broadcast fodder on-camera. His Grantland website balances sports and pop culture and it is always filled with great reads. One of my favorite articles is the annual one ranking the top fifty NBA players from the past season. Yet what makes me love Simmons even more is his unrequited love for Boston sports. He even hosted the great 30 for 30 film, Four Days in October.

 77. Fred Weasley

My favorite Harry Potter character had to have a spot on the list. There are obviously no photographs of the literary version of Fred Weasley, but hey. The film version is good, too. He and George were obviously used as comic relief in the books and films, but that doesn't mean I should love him any less. Yet Fred's last scene in the book was...not good for one's favorite character in the series.

 76. Casey Affleck

He loves to rob things. In films, of course. The better Affleck brother was in Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, and Ocean's 13. So you know he's a smart guy who has a knack for heist films. Maybe that's why he was a part of the stellar cast that made up Tower Heist. What continues to drive my love for Casey Affleck is the fact that he would make the perfect James Bond.

75. Bradford Howe

The absolute best. I can't think of a better guy to kick off the top seventy-five people. You probably know Bradford from his long, but too short, run as the host of Screenvision, the visual media before you see a film in theaters. I miss him everyday and I still hope that one day, I will see him host it again. One day.

  1. Another group so unique to you. Surprised Howe is still here! And her happy to see a Potter character. Casey Affleck was a given, just surprised he wasn't higher up!
