#SIXSEASONSANDAMOVIE

FREAK OUT: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! SUCK IT, METEOR! I HAVE DREAMED ABOUT THIS MOMENT OF COMMUNITY BEING SAVED FOR FIFTY-ONE DAYS! YAHOO!!!! I AM FOREVER INDEBTED TO YAHOO! GOOGLE IS NOT EVEN A SEARCH ENGINE COMPARED TO THE BRILLIANCE THAT IS YAHOO! WE WERE GIVEN MORE TIME IN A DREAM. THIS IS OUR SHOW. AND IT'S NOT OVER. SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE STARTED OUT AS A ONE-LINER AND IT BECAME A RALLY CRY AND EVENTUALLY A PROPHECY. WE ARE HERE NOW! A SIXTH SEASON OF COMMUNITY IS COMING! THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PARTY!

Blog post: And so here it is! At long last our beloved Community has been saved. NBC canceled one of the best shows in the history of television on May 9, just before the coveted sixth season. Now, on the day of reckoning, Yahoo came in at the eleventh hour and saved it! Yahoo Screen will air thirteen new episodes of Community's sixth season this autumn! THIS AUTUMN! How amazing is that? Plus, Yahoo said "if anything, the episodes will be longer." AWESOME! I still am in disbelief. Contracts for the cast expired at 11:59 P.M. on June 30. Six hours before the end, Yahoo stepped in and saved the world. But never fear! Joel McHale (Jeff Winger), Alison Brie (Annie Edison), Danny Pudi (Abed Nadir), Gillian Jacobs (Britta Perry), Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley Bennett), Ken Jeong (Ben Chang), Jim Rash (Craig Pelton), and executive producers Dan Harmon, Chris McKenna, Russ Krasnoff, and Gary Foster will all be returning for the storied, landmark, and historic sixth season. Seriously! Has any show been through as much or made more history than Community did? From the original status as a "run out the clock" show for NBC to pulled midseason to being placed on NBC's permanent chopping block to coming back after numerous protests to firing Dan Harmon for a "gas leak" fourth season to returning for a completely-unexpected and unbelievable fifth season with Dan Harmon as showrunner again to being canceled by NBC to being miraculously saved in the eleventh hour by Yahoo for the sixth season! What a journey its been and it has been so hard, but it is worth it. It is so worth it. Shoutout to Yahoo, to Sony, the staff, writers, actors, crew, producers, directors, and especially the fans. Without the fans, there would be no Community. Without Dan Harmon, there would be no Community to save. Also a special thank you to Joel McHale who has absolutely done so much for the show. Behind-the-scenes he certainly and undoubtedly loves and cares for the show when his influence brought back Harmon and maybe even got us this sixth season. And let's not forget to thank NBC. The recently-resurrected Community Twitter profile said it best. "You tried to destroy us, but you only made us...MORE AWESOME!" I am beyond thrilled and so grateful. I will leave you with some tweets, gifs, and quotes which even further express this amazingness.

“Yahoo is all about connecting the best creators to the audiences who love their work. Community has an incredibly passionate and loyal fan base who have fought hard to keep this amazing show alive. We couldn’t be more excited to work with Dan, Joel, and the entire cast, as well as Sony, to deliver a great season 6.” - Yahoo CMO, Kathy Savitt.

“The budget won’t be cut one dollar. We didn’t want to be producing the show at any less of the quality or production value that we had been producing. Yahoo came in with finances that were undeniable.” - Sony Pictures Television President, Zack Van Amburg.

“‘The reports of our cancelation have been greatly exaggerated.’ —Mark Twain (The other version of this quote has been wrong for years). # SixSeasonsAndaMovie is real. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon.  And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It’s the Internet. We can swear now.” - Joel McHale

“I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!” - Dan Harmon
